Hi I''m new. After reading through all of the advice on pricescope I am considering buying my girlfriend a 3 stone ring from good old gold (who have been really great about responding to my emails and answering my questions). But I was hoping to get your advice on the stones before I buy anything.

The center is a 0.54 D VS1 Jubilee. Sorry if the link doesn''t work.

The sidestones are 0.32 G Sq.Cushion H&As. One is VS2 and the other is SI1.

1) Do you think these are good stones that will look okay together?
2) Are the sidestones a good size for the center?
3) Do you think the color difference will be really noticeable even though the stones are well cut? My girlfriend is pretty good at noticing color differences...

I''d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who''ve seen these cuts in person or have a three stone rings with different color stones. Thanks!

Size of side stones are personal preference, I prefer much smaller side stones, others prefer the same size. So depends on your girlfriend.

Color difference will be negligible. 2 grades difference in color of sides stones to main stones are acceptable.

I think the sizes and clarities are fine (if the SI is confirmed eyeclean).

When people here say that their excellent-cut "H faces up like an F" it generally means that it A) faces up whiter than the side view, and B) faces up whiter than an H of poor/moderate cut.

Even with the smaller side sizes and "sparkly" shapes, that''s still a three-grade difference, and that''s quite a bit. If you''d said G-J, for example, I wouldn''t hesitate to say reconsider, esp. with a colour-sensitive GF, but you''re going from colourless to almost-completely-colourless, so...

Can you ask your GOG rep to take some photos of your centre with the proposed sides? Pics aren''t like going in person, but they''ll help. I would also ask him/her to give an honest judgment of what lighting the colour difference becomes an issue in (if your GF works a desk job and office lighting is the worst, maybe not the best plan, KWIM?)

Welcome Seth!

Side stone size is personal preference, definitely speak to Jon at GOG, he will be able to advise you on which would look best if you are unsure and the suitability of these particular diamonds for as a 3 stone ring.

Standard advice for colour is to keep centre and side stones within 2 colour grades generally with round diamonds ( assuming GIA or AGS graded as in this case) - however - with fancy shapes such as these it would be prudent to check with Jon concerning the colour grades and how well they work together as a three stone for these particular diamonds.

Thanks for your help. I do have some pictures from GOG so I guess the best thing to do would be to show my gf and let her decide if the color difference matters to her (she''s been helping me shop anyway). And I''m going to double check on whether the SI1 is eye clean.

Does anyone have any comments on the center stone? It seemed pretty good to me, but I''ve only been able to compare it to some not so nice stones at the mall stores...

I don''t know much about Jubilees as they are a lesser known cut, but that does look like a very pretty diamond, Jon will be able to advise you whether this diamond is eyeclean. Maybe he could do a video for you if you ask him?
