Hello, everyone.

I saw the following diamond in person this past weekend. I am ready/wanting to purchase a diamond/engagement ring by the end of this month and was hoping to receive your opinion. Is this a good buy?

Carat weight: 0.85

Cut: Ideal

Color: G

Clarity: VS2

Depth %: 61.6%

Table %: 56%

Symmetry: Excellent

Polish: Excellent

Girdle: Thin to slightly thick, faceted

Culet: None

Fluorescence: None

Measurements: 6.08 x 6.12 x 3.76 mm

Price. 4,173

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated. Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Best Regards!

My apologies. The diamond is GIA.

Here is the link from blue nile:

Diamond Link

It contains the GIA grading report.

Having trouble with the link.

Inputting the dimensions of the diamond, 61.6% depth, 56% table, 35° crown angle, 40.8° pavilion angle, into the HCA gives a score of 1.5.

So looks like you found a very good stone. :)

No red flags that I can see. Maybe someone else can spot something that I miss.

It could be a lovely stone, Idealscope is always nice but BN don''t offer them. However they do have 30 days return policy.

I forgot to mention that the diamond being sold on blue nile is the same stone the local vendor presented. Should I be worried?

I did view the diamond with a loupe. The stone looked really good to me, but I''m not diamond-smart in the slightest sense. Would it be better to view it through a microscope? I did have that option.

bump.

Your feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hmmm... you sure they are the same stone??? That is unlikely as BN has their own stock. Did the local vendor has the GIA grading report on hand?

weird...

Or just give BN a call and see what they say? Maybe the Local vendor is doing a middleman biz and selling you for a slight markup?
