Hi Everyone !!!

This is my first post on this forum.... actually it is my forst day on Pricescope...

I am curious to know what you think of the specs of this stone.... i am attaching a pic of the setting as well... the setting is shown with a 2 ct Asscher !!!

Thanks !!!

Dimentions: 6.72mm x6.72mm x4.67mm
Table: 60 %

Price... $7400.00

This is the setting.... *drools*

Any information on the girdle?
Does Leon give you an actual picture of the stone?

Wow, that is a really low price for a 1.8 carat asscher. Even a J. In fact that's about what you'd expect to pay for MUCH smaller asscher. If you were paying a higher price, a more average price, I would say it's too deep and you should be getting 6.85 ish mm spread with a lower depth. But the depth IS under 70%... so for under 7.5K... if you've seen it and love it. I have no comment other than... why is the price so low? That would raise flags for me. Who graded it?

TK -VTK Girdle...

Um, what does that mean ??????

It''s not a bad thing. It''s a strong girdle, just holding some weight it in, which coupled with the depth is where the spread is going. Again... if you were paying more.. Who graded it? EGL? IGI? GIA?

Gyspy, I agree the price is VERY good for a 1.8 ct asscher, even for a J. I wonder where Leon''s getting his stones.

Honey. If you've seen it and you love it, there is NOTHING that you have posted in this thread to justify you not buying it. The price is great, J color is a personal thing, and it's GIA. I would take it to an independant appraiser just in case, because the price is so low, I'd want to make sure everything was on the up and up.

ETA: The stone is Sourced by Leon? Wow, Chrono's right... where IS he getting his stones. Someone on here wanted to get a Tsavorite from him and the price was well, high, so I'm wondering why (again) this diamond is so inexpensive through him.

The price IS LOW.... I researched other Asschers with similar specs and found this one to be lower than most....

I am soooo in love with J cooured stones.... the warmth is extraordinary !!!!

He told me he has "Distributors" he uses to find stones.... Where he found THIS particular one, I have nooo idea... and even if I did, I would not reveal the source... *wink*

Regardless, i cannot PERSONALLY see the stone.... I live in Canada and he is in NY.......

*sigh*

I am soo in love with the setting, soooo in love with the man I adore and sooo in love with LEON that it just seems right....

Now to convince HIM.....

Ok. So thoughts:

One. Leon is an ego-ist. I doubt he''d CHOOSE an ugly stone to put into one of his works of art, IMO.

Two: He has great taste.

Three: Numbers are solid.

Four: You love warmth.

Five: Price is knockout.

Six: I''d buy.

Ditto! You''ve said it all, Gypsy. Leon is very particular about stones that he sets in his creations so I highly doubt it''s going to be a dud. The numbers are promising, you like Js and the price can''t be beat. I''d buy it too if I could. Wow, a 1.8ct asscher for under $8K! I still can''t believe it.

You girls are too funny !!!!!

Leon said the stone was BEAUTIFUL and like you, I highly doubt he''s throw a nasty stone in ANY of his pieces...... He seems VERY particular and what I have read about him and the pieces I have seen, this appears to be true....

Now where did I put my Mastercard ???????

We ARE going to get pics and hand shots when all is said and done, right?

I can''t wait to see this baby!! Leon is picky about the stones he sets. He chose my side stones ( half moons ) for my oval 3 stone ring, and have to say he did a great job in picking them. I did see pics of them of course and ok''d them. Price wasn''t bad either.

GYPSY !!!!!

Of course......

I don''t know beans about asschers, but, that setting is gorgeous!!! And if magic *Leon* picked the stone, I''d trust him!!!! I can''t wait to see the finished product!!

WHOA! A 1.8 asscher for $7,400?! And I thought I got a deal! If you love the warmth of a J then I would definitely go for it.

I''m confused about one thing, though, how is it possible that the symmetry is only VG if the dimentions are 6.72 * 6.72? I can only assume I''m missing something.

That setting is so beautiful, too. Are all of the diamonds included in the setting? I only ask because with a J-colored center stone it might be a good idea to make the side stones H-I colored?

Just wondering how did you find out he had an asscher available to source? His site used to have a page with diamonds he had available but I havent seen it in a long time. Did you just call?
Thanks.

All the advice you got here is good. The price is amazing and Leon is discriminating. I don''t think you will get a better deal elsewhere and if you like Js go for it!
