I''ve looked around a lot with info I''ve learned from many on this site and I think this diamond is a good one. But what do I know?

. So I thought I''d ask the pros their opinion on the diamond and price given the specs.

Thanks

It appears to be a very promising diamond by the numbers! An Idealscope is always nice to confirm the numbers if you have one, which vendor has it?

Scores 0.7 on the HCA, so no problems there. I must say, the angles and proportions look really good. Can't comment too much on price since there's no colour or clarity info, but you're looking good on cut. If it's an SI stone, check that it's eye clean.

As Lorelei says, an Idealscope image is a good thing to check out to confirm.

Sorry, I forgot! It''s a H color VS1

Sounds extremely promising, and no worries with a H VS1. It''s up to you if you want to double check with an idealscope. It is recommended but if pressed (i.e. you really love it), you are probably all right without it.

I agree, even if you can''t get an Idealscope, I''d still go for this one. Good find.

Indeed, although IS are always good to confirm the numbers, with these proportions it may well be worth getting anyway

Here is the Idealscope. Let me know what you think.

Nice image. Looks good to me too!

Nah, it's a piece of junk. I hope you've not purchased it yet...

Just kidding - I'm actually envying the hell out of you because I was seriously considering that fabulous deal and someone (you?) snagged it while I was waiting for feedback on it. Instead, I went with one that was .004 ct larger and therefore just over the 0.9ct magic mark (about the highest per carat differential I've seen - I don't want to think about it too much).

On the other hand, if you change your mind (hey, go find her a .998!), let me know, ok?

Will do, but I doubt it

*Sigh* - it was worth a try. Ah, well, at least you'll fully appreciate this stone

(trying to be philosophical about costing my fiance the better part of a plane trip back to the States)

Just use the same line I''ve heard " But I''m worth it right? And you just can''t put a price on my happiness."
