Advice on setting

Some of you may remember my 1.43 OMC. This weekend, I impulsively reset it into this setting bc as much as I liked the yellow delicate halo, (bottom picture) it wasn't a practical travel ring. This setting suits my purpose better. I think that I always wanted an old cut in a white setting, and the yellow gold enhanced the stone, but made me feel like it wasn't as antique as I wanted. Now I like the setting but am wondering if I should plate it yellow to enhance the stone. so the question is, will it look better if the setting is yellow?

I like it better in the yellow...really made the stone pop! But, it could just be a difference between the settings.

Yes. The other setting really gave it a different look. I guess I'm wondering if making this setting yellow will change the character of the ring.
