i am going to see some of my favorite diamonds i found online in person early this week. they are all princess or radiant 1.5 to 1.7 ct, SI1 or better, and J or better; one or two has floures. as i''ve learned you can''t really judge these diamonds from their numbers so I am greatly looking forward to being able to pick one out in person. this may be a stupid question, but any advice on picking one out in person, anything in particular to look for? or is it as simple as that one looks better? the reason i ask is the other time i''ve shopped for diamonds in person, they''ve looked pretty much the same, and if that''s the case i''ll end up with the cheapest one (which is fine by me), but if their expert is telling me another one shows more brilliance, i should be able to see that for myself right?

another issue i had when looking in person was that it was hard for me to get a sense of what these loose diamonds would look like once set. any advice on that?

and, since i am seeing them in person, should i still get ASET/IS images if i can?

thanks

You said you were going to see diamonds at James Allen? In that case I am sure you will be fine, but don''t be afraid to trust your eyes. Look at different diamonds in different lights to get an idea of which is the best one for you. JA could probably still provide Idealscope images, but overall go with what looks good to you. As to how the diamond looks when set, that depends on the setting you choose, maybe JA might have some examples or pics to show you.
