Advice on impending purchase

I am narrowing down the field and after reading for over a week now this great forum, im starting to get the feeling that I should look at SI1 vs VS2.

I am shopping for an EC just in the 2-2.25ct range and am starting to debate if my stubborness on VS2 or better should be redifned. I have made a chouce of not going below H and want the best CUT possible, and now im perplexed on the Clarity.

Should i consder SI1 for EC of that size ?

i am one that feels you should not rule anything out. does that mean you should compromise in finding a nice eye clean stone? not at all. i just think the options should be open. if you find something great, if not, you are no worse off.

For a round or other brilliant cut diamond SI1 or SI2 can be very eyeclean. For an EC, well I won''t say it''s impossible to find an eyeclean SI, but it will be difficult to find. With a step cut, I would be looking at VS1 and VS2.
