Hello, dear experts!

I just stumbled across this wonderful site and wish to seek advice.

Last week, my dear beau spent a great deal of money on the diamond for my engagement ring. Because of the expense, I just want to make sure that the right decision has been made. The diamond is really beautiful. But, I''m a bit concerned about the depth % and girdle thickness. I am wondering if I should have the jeweler quietly persue a few more rocks prior to setting the diamond. I dream of a class 1 shiney. But, I don''t want to seem ungrateful and I''m going crazy having read one of THOSE books!

Here is what I remember:

Emerald Cut
1.8 carats
64% table
68% depth
thick girdle
good cut
excellent polish
1.4:1
$19,750

Any and all advice would be extremely appreciated.

Thank you!

What lab is the cert?
What is the colour and clarity?
What are the dimensions of the EC?
What is the symmetry? I recommend at least a VG rating
What is the crown height? At least 10% is recommended, but I like 12% and upwards.

64% table = Good pick
68% depth = A bit deep so it'll measure smaller face up. Anything under 65% is preferred but might be all right if the stone is good.
thick girdle = Not keen on a thick girdle due to hidden weight but not a dealbreaker.
good cut
excellent polish = Good pick
1.4:1 = Sweet ratio

Can you describe what you see? How does it look under natural sunlight, incandescent and fluorescent lightings?

Oops! Forgot some important specs:

F Color
VS1 Clarity

I don''t have the rest of the figures. I will try to get the rest of the information...
