I have a ring that has a sapphire cabachon in the center with pave diamonds on the band and four small emeralds on the side (secret?). I''m afraid to put it in the sonic jewelry cleaner due to the delicacy of the emeralds. One time I had the jeweler clean the ring and one of the emeralds came out...he put it back in and I haven''t touched the ring cleaning-wise since. Should I leave it alone? Or would it be safe to gently clean the pave diamonds with a small brush?

You should never put emeralds in an ultrasonic. Use a baby toothbrush and dish soap with water instead.

First of all, we need to see some pictures of this gorgeous and unique ring!!!!!

Second, I agree that ultrasonic is probably NOT the way to go with this ring. I would suggest an ammonia based soapy water scrub with a soft toothbrush, then run it under luke warm water and dry off with a towel or cloth that doesn''t shed.

Never put emeralds in an ultra sonic cleaner!A mild dish soap and a very soft baby brush that is used with a light touch is the best way to clean this type of ring.Good Luck.
