I need some advice on a round brilliant I am considering. It is a G, SI1 (eye clean), triple Ideal cut, .87 pointer. Its %''s are: depth 61, table 57, pavil angle 40.8 and crown angle 34.4. No fluorescence and a med-slightly thick girdle. Is the size difference between this and a 1 carat ideal noticeable? At what carat size can you start to see a size difference from 1 carat? I really like this diamond and think the price is right (just under $4 k) but don''t want it to look small. Thanks for the help!

Will it be smaller than a well-cut 1ct? Of course, but the point at which it is "noticeable" is very debateable. The spread on your diamond could be similar to a poorly cut 1ct. If looking like a 1ct is important to you, there's a very good chance people would not know it was any smaller unless they had another stone to compare it to.

Also, the perceived size also can depend on the setting and even the shape of your fiancée's hand and fingers.

In any case, I would not call .87 carat "small", unless you have a lot of rich friends.
If you like the cut and the price, don't worry about a 13-point size difference.
