Hi All,

I was hoping for some opinions on how to best spend $7500 on a round diamond. I have not personally viewed enough stones to determine what factors affect appearance the most. My list of priorities keeps changing based on the last article I read so I want to try and finalize it. I know this partially comes down to personal opinion and wanted to get it from more experienced individuals. So far size, cut, and performance are definitely the highest priority. Clarity I would like an eye clean SI1 or VS2 and color I was thinking G. Any suggestions?

I was initially hoping for 1.5c or larger but this may not be feasible with my criteria. I would be grateful if anyone could provide links to stones they would suggest so I can see if I am on the right track.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Mak

Cut is very important in order for you to get a beautiful diamond, cut is what gives a diamond its sparkle and brilliance. So if you find a great cut, you can definitely consider SI clarities if eyeclean, G colour is also a sweet spot. We can also look for some examples of diamonds you might like.

I was just recently engaged. The stats for my diamond is as follows:

Carat: 1.58
Clarity: SI2 (eye-clean)
Color: G
Cut: Ideal

I too wanted a diamond at least 1.5, so I sacraficed clarity of all the C''s. I just wanted a diamond that was eye-clean, and I am sure with the knowledgable people here at pricescope you can locate an eye-clean SI2 that would perhaps get you closer to the 1.5 carat magic mark. Of course this is all prefercence and understand if an SI2 is too low on the clarity chart for your satisfaction, but it is something to investigate.

Thanks Lorelei!

Very nice ring indeed. That is the size I am looking for so I might need to modify my criteria. I also would choose clarity but it is hard without viewing the stone to know if you are getting an eye clean SI.

Lorelei if you can post examples when you get a chance I would really appreciate it.
