Hi,
I recently got engaged and I am desperately needing advice on diamond selection. I am torn between cut and colour and carat size. These are a few that I have selected and I wondered what you thought of them and which you would choose?

Thank you!

Would really appreciate some feedback as totally new to diamonds and the cut etc. really overwhelms me!

Welcome!

The last diamond, the ACA would be my pick out of your contenders. It is quite possible to get an excellently cut non branded diamond if you don't want an ACA, but we would need to look for some more, as you can do better than the other ones listed. Also the second and third diamonds are not in house stones, I would personally stick with in house diamonds which WF can access for you very quickly to answer any questions you may have, also the cut analysis has already been done so you know what you are buying.

There is a lot to learn and I know it can be overwhelming, but we will help you through it!

Cut needs to have a high priority as it is this which gives a diamond it's beauty. Colour, your selections were fine, F G or H can be a sweet spot for many, clarity VVS is considered overkill by some, unless you prefer such high clarity. However VS can be a great choice and even some SI1 or even SI2 clarities can be eyeclean - and help the budget so you could get a larger diamond if you wish! But you are definitely on the right track, also with Whiteflash, they are a highly regarded vendor.

Well, the ACA I would pick but the you probably could go up in color and clarity. I would ask for the cert on the .93 F since it does not give you the pavilion angle and crown angle.

Thanks for your advice. I have been leaning towards the ACA!

The image of the ACA on the WF site shows two dots on up at 12 O''clock. Are they inclusions? they seem to be very prominent.

Compared to other VS1 it seems to have a lot of imperfections. What do you think?

You have absolutely nothing to worry about with a VS1. Many VS1''s are even difficult to pick out inclusions with a microscope.

Ditto KC - no worries!

There are two quite prominent inclusions on both the image of the diamond and on the hearts report. I have compared this to other VS1 reports and they don''t show any inclusions at all. http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds/Diamond_Details.aspx?idno=978310#

I wish I lived in the US it woudl make diamond selection so much easier. It is pretty difficult selecting a diamond from abroad!

I know it can be daunting selecting, but again VS should be eyeclean, and WF will be completely honest with you.
