Hi everybody,

Ive been doing lots of research here lately. Looking to propose later in the year and first step is getting a diamond. I work at a diamond mine in Canada and can get diamonds through the company. I know that my girlfriend wants a princess cut stone. It looks as if I could get a better deal and more selection online but I would like to get one from the mine I work at, as there is some sentimental value there. Right now there are very few princess cuts available. But one has come up with the following from the GIA report...

Weight :1.02 C
Measurments: 5.42x5.39x3.93
Color: E
Clarity:VVS1
Polish/ Symmetry: Excellent / Very good
Table:70%
Depth: 72.9%
Girdle: Medium Thick

So I was looking for some feedback on the stone, is there anything that stands out that wouldnt make this a brilliant stone. I was initially thinking of something larger, although she is very petite with small fingers. But I just havent seen many stones come up above 1 C and this to me looks like a high quality stone, so I would take the quality over quantity. I know shes keen on the tiffany princess setting, and from the research ive done the excel diamonds replica looks to be a good one in Platinum.

Any advice on the stone or setting would be appreciated...

Ill be sure to keep you updated as I go through this process. Thanks for all the info, Ive been learning for days with the info available on this site.

Cheers

unfortunately, there isn't any means to tell how the diamond will look like based on the grading report. If this was a round diamond, proportions would help. Being a princess cut, you will need more data. Had you seen the stone yourself?

Is there any way to get ASET / Idealscope images?

I cant see the stone and no way to get an ASET unfortunately! Thanks for the advice though...
