So I have done my best to educate myself in purchasing diamonds, and I have become overwhelmed in the amount of information that is out there. Through my own research and shopping I have narrowed down my specifications to a GIA certified Round Brilliant G SI1 Ex, Ex, Ex, with no fluorescence. The plotting has been an issue with me searching for stones online, I have tried to minimize inclusions in the SI1 category and find a stone that inclusions can be pronged over or are very hard to find with the naked eye. My local Jeweler, whom I began the shopping process with, found a stone in my price range and with my “inclusion specifications” met. My hang up is that I have discovered Holloway Cut Advisor and the stone scores an underwhelming 4+. I think the stone is brilliant but this being the largest and most important purchase of my young adult life; I would appreciate any input and guidance.
