First time buyer here. Bought this from Blue Nile. 30 day money back gives me peace of mind. Have done my research but no expert by any means.

Thoughts on this diamond? Should I be worried about cavity- will it ruin structural integrity? Any other thoughts? Won't have it in my hands for at least a week. Looking for maximum sparkle and shine.

Much thanks in advance

That is a stone that I would not consider buying without magnified images. It appears that the cavity is on a crown facet, and I am not sure if it could be covered by a prong or not. I would find a stone with different inclusions, or preferably only shop with vendors who provide magnified images of the diamond plus idealscope images. If it is too late to stop the order, then I'd have to have an appraiser evaluate the stone and verify whether a prong can be safely placed over the cavity to cover it, if it is on a crown facet. It is probably tiny, but still it would bug me knowing it was there.

Thanks for the quick response. Any thoughts on the structural integrity being ruined?
It's supposedly eye clean, so as long as I can't see it, it's not a huge deal to me.

I was able to get this image of the diamond, although I don't know if it helps much... thoughts?

And again, than you in advance.

I'll also mention that I've read cavity can be dangerous on the girdle. Is that a fair statement? Can it be confirmed by the images above are not on the girdle?

still looking for advice on this one. Any help or experience with cavities would be appreciated.
Thank you again.

So sorry for the late reply. I am sure it is so tiny that it would not be a structural problem. It is good to see the magnified image as it looks like the cavity is indeed tiny. I'd have to see this one in person, though, to be certain about whether the inclusions would bother me, but that really is true for all SI1 stones.

thanks for the response. Other thoughts are welcome.

When I receive it, I will try to post a picture of it (if i am able to get a good one) to get your thoughts. On paper (GIA report) it looks perfect but will have to see in person.
