You can use the search tool under Prices to compare similar, i.e. GIA G SI1 of similar size. The price looks about right. Is this with an online vendor? Have you seen this diamond? It looks as if it could be very nice! Not that I am an expert by the way, looking at your title!

Hi PapaWhiskey,

I would call Martin Sheffield. I have now purchased 2 stones from him and have been extremely happy with his service. His markup is VERY minimal. You can reach him at: 1-800 252-1476. Within the day, he can get you a list of all stones that are similar to the stone that you are planning on purchasing. I bought an AGS-000 1.7 ct stone for him for an amazingly low price. You should definitely check him out. If your listed price is better than what Martin can do for you, then you know you are good to go.

ditto, if you''ve seen it and it''s eyeclean..looks like it could be a winner. it scored a .7 on the HCA. many like to stay b/t 1-2 but there are a few pricescopers who have just just under 1 and been very happy.

The data you have looks promising but we need more to be decisive. Angles on GIA reports are rounded, so you're looking at a possible 40.5 Pavilion Angle and a range of 34.3-34.7 for Crown Angle. PA and CA figures are also averages of 8 measurements, so that data is (1) averaged and (2) rounded. If we could see a Sarin or Helium report we could be more specific. An ideal-scope or ASET photo would be very valuable to us.

If you've seen the diamond live you're in a better position to judge it than the EX/SI here (experts and savvy individuals

). Be sure to view it in several lighting conditions; diffused lighting like fluorescent will be the best way to make the 'eye-clean' judgment. Or, if you're working with an online vendor make sure you both have a working definition of 'eye-clean,' and you may want to request the Sarin and Ideal-Scope. Best wishes.
