Adjustable Gold Ring - possible?

I’m thinking about having a mothers ring made in the near ish future. I have a design in mind but I can’t decide which finger to wear it on. Ideally I wanted it as a pinky ring, but it got me thinking about whether or not a ring could be made in 14k or 18k gold, and be adjustable to switch between different fingers within a few sizes of each other.

An initial search on google suggests it’s possible, especially with cuff style rings, but would it be safe?
