ACH! Lost a diamond from my eternity band!

OH Man!
I''m a bit sad today!

I must start off by saying that I''m not totally surprised, I"m just sad, and now I''m wondering what to do (if anything.)

So, this is my Raphael band from Signed Pieces. I absolutely adore it. It''s one of the rings that I had to have
cut off my finger after the accident. It''s the reason that I actually DIDN''T get my rings cut off sooner (kept hoping that
I could eventually work it off the finger.) Finally, when I was told that I HAD to get my rings cut off in order to have the MRI,
I went to a jeweler to have it done. He tried to be very careful, but in the process chipped a diamond.

So, he reset it, but I was always afraid that the intergity of the band was lost, now I guess I was right.

Currently I''m still scouring the house for the stone, but I think it''s a lost cause.

What would you do? Would you try to have the diamond reset? (they''re small, tcw of my ring is just under 1 carat, I think.)
Or do you think the act of cutting my ring off, and then resetting it really messed with the structure?

Currently I"m wearing it missing one stone. Is that foolish? If one is gone, will the others fall out?

Hmmm....if it were *me* I would send it back to SP to have them determine if the integrity of the setting was compromised totally or if the stone was simply set incorrectly, and have them deal with it. I bet they can fix it.

I guess a part of me felt like I was playing with fire anyhow after getting it cut off, and reading that eternity bands couldn''t be resized.

I just feel like I"ve been having some bad ring (finger) luck lately.

Annie, I''m so sorry!

I agree that you should check with Signed Pieces to see what they would recommend. If you can''t find the stone that fell out, I would think it could be replaced for a pretty reasonable amount of money. Even if SP tells you that the integrity of the entire ring is now compromised, maybe they could build you a new ring using the same stones? Good luck, and let us know how it turns out! BTW, have you heard any more about your e-ring???

I''m having an emotional low today! The eternity band just tipped me off. I had to put it away in its box for a bit. I''m sure they''ll be very helpful at S P, just feeling a bit sorry for myself.

My diamond arrived at its destination in LA, now I''m just waiting to hear! They''ve had it about a week. So, I expect to hear in about another week.

But just because I''m TOTALLY insane, I''m absolutely second guessing my ring size. I had it sized at a B and M after a day of hand therapy, but today when I found my personal sizer (as I was hunting for my diamond in the couch,) I found that my finger is DOWN a half size! I mean, WHAT? I thought it was all bone at the point that I had it sized, now I''m in a panic (because I seem to love to freak out.) DH did a good job of talking me down, obviously if my new ring doesn''t fit, we can send it back, but I''m just feeling like I keep messing things up.

Ah, well, aren''t you glad you asked? Anyhow, thanks for giving me a place to vent!

Emm, how goes the quest for earrings?

LOL! I know how you feel . . . I second guess myself ALL the time! But, like you said, I''m sure the ring size they told you at the B&M is correct. And, if your sizer at home tells you that the difference is only 1/2 size, that''s really not that much ~ you probably wouldn''t even notice it!

I''m glad your ring made it safely to LA! Hopefully you''ll at least get good news on that front sometime soon. It seems like when it rains, it pours, huh?!?!

The earring quest is progressing nicely! Sheerah at Whiteflash is ordering in a nice pair of H/SI1 princess cuts for me ~ 0.72 carat each, so we''re looking at 1.44 ctw. They should be arriving at WF any minute now, and she''s going to send me a bunch of images when they do. I''m sure I don''t have to tell you that I''m obsessively checking my e-mail! LOL!
