I have a diamond (round brilliant cut) that I''d like to set in a ring and surround with RBs interspersed with tapered baguettes (broad end by the central diamond, with slimmer end putting outward. Has anybody seen this done please?

TIA

Not sure exactly what you mean. I have seen just the tapered baguette look you describe, but I''m not sure what you mean by the "RB''s interspersed" with the baguettes. Do you have a picture?

Sorry! I''m not the best as descriptions! Here is a VERY rough Powerpoint drawing! Have you ever seen anything like this? Would it work?

Or ideally with the baguettes slightly longer:

Ahhhh in a halo, I see now. I think it could be stunning, BUT the one thing I would worry about is those baguettes getting smashed and/or caught on everything if they stick out. I think I''ve seen some antique rings like that though.

Thank you for your reply. I''ve never seen it before so just couldn''t visualise whether you''d need to put a bezel/bar set type of setting on the end of the baguette to prevent them catching etc. Can you recall if the baguettes were claw set?

i think that it would look awesome. i would suggest that you use a setting that will protect those bags.

Here are a few pictures of things I have found to give you ideas.

I think something like this is the most wearable, where the outside is "captured" by a bezel. I think the other ideas, while very pretty, still are more of a special occasion ring than an everyday ring. But maybe it is a special occasion ring you want?

Neatfreak - that was so kind of you to go to that trouble. Thank you very much. You've given me a couple of ideas (especially with the Ruby ring and how claws can be used at the end of the baguettes). I really appreciate your input.

Radiantquest - yes I agree, they will need protecting. I was just having a "haven't got a clue how to do this" moment!!! Thanks also for your input.
