ACA VS1 or ACA VS2?

If this is true. I vote VS1 as well. For me personally? I wouldn''t care if it was an I1 if it was eyeclean. But I understand the cultural thing, and with all the time and effort you are expending, you will be heartbroken if your diamond is deemed inferior because of the clarity (regardless of whether or not you can see it).

Personally? I''d get the WF Harmony setting 3/4 eternity with an integrated head.

You are right in the sense that asian culture sometimes pay too much attention to the numbers instead of real performance.I myself is a good example,otherwise I don''t have to come here.But now as I decided to use fake ring first and already put the diamond on hold,I can just ask her to pick whatever she likes after the proposal.It''s gonna be something she wears everyday and I am gonna leave the decision to her.Enough mind torture for me

Your username gave it away. I assumed you were xiao xin and she was xiao bai.

If I didn't have cultural influences I would have gone with a VS2 or eye clean SI1. However, I ended up with a VS1 and have no regrets since it passed all parental approvals and matched my asian community's norms. This community is well versed with AGS0 and tends to favor higher color and clarity but is sometimes too fixated on just the 4 Cs. As I have learned on this board, not all AGS0s with similar 4Cs perform equally in real life. I have seen some D-F, VVS1-VVS2s AGS0s that were just duds when put side by side with my fiance's ring. They are great performers on their own but ACAs and equivalents have incomparable fire, scintillation, and brilliance.

I used cultural peferences as an initial qualifier and relied heavily on the vast collective wisdom of this board to select the Creme de la Creme. Luckily, WF has already done the last part for you. Both diamonds you have chosen will outperform almost everything else out there.

If you are not confident of her size and setting preferences, then proposing without it is a good call. If you really want to propose with the actual diamond, you can always get a temporary setting... lots of my friends did that. I had my fiance go into a shop to get sized and sent her pictures of 8 settings to rank. From that it was just blind faith that she would like what I picked out and it would fit.

Well,I don''t think her family is that much into 4Cs and at this moment I know way more stuff about the stone than my gf.So I am guessing either one will be fine.Plus I seriously doubt the VS1 would be sold by next week,so in case she wants that one I can still get it or maybe something even better.All we have to do is to make the ladies happy.As for the settings,I had bad experience before when I bought her watch and necklace,both times she didn''t like it and I have to return,get something else instead.So from her perspective,I got no taste in jewlrey

and I''d better check with her before future purchase.So I am going with the safe road this time since it is a big deal.
