I have been reading this website for the last couple of months in preparation of buying an engagement ring. This forum has been a great source of knowlege. I plan on proposing in mid-August so I figure now is the time to pull the trigger. I have decided that I will feel most comfortable buying an ACA Princess from Whiteflash, but I had a couple of questions I figure you guys could answer. First if I buy an ACA from Whiteflash with a SI1 grade, will it be eye clean according to their standards? And the second question is do you think that if a diamond is listed as having a thin girdle it wouldn''t be on the corners if it is an ACA? This is the one that I was thinking about if anyone wants to offer any opinions. Thanks for your input.

Contact WF, ask if it's eye-clean according to their definition (which is clearly defined somewhere in the Pricescope FAQs). A thin girdle is ok. As long as Whiteflash sets it, and you have insurance later, you won't have to worry about it.

I''ve heard that all ACA stones are eye-clean by WF''s standards. That said, eye-clean is defined from the face-up view, so it''s possible that an inclusion could be visible from the sides. This is important if you''re putting it into a setting with an open gallery. As for the girdle, I''m not an expert, but I think thin should be fine. I''d worry about "extremely thin" but not just thin. The stone looks great, and I''d reserve it if I were you!
