ACA I color?

I love an ACA stone from Whiteflash, but its an I color, I know AGS is more lenient with colors than GIA.

I'm not sure if I should pull the trigger on this stone, HCA = 1.3, or wait for another stone that won't be ACA, but a better color.

Thoughts on AGS I color?

I would love to give you my opinion, so you will have one data point. However, you will have to wait until Monday when I receive my two, I color ACA diamonds from Whiteflash. I have three diamonds in my possession that are GIA ExExEx in F, I and J color. When I receive the ACA diamonds, I shall do a visual comparison and provide feedback. In the meantime, make sure that you "reserve" the diamond that you like, so it will not get snatched.

I have several other ACA's (AGS certified) that range from E to H colors. I may check them out for you if you like. However, please be cautioned that my opinion/observation is only subjective, as everyone's color sensitivity is different.

My personal experience is that I have seen an I color AGS stone that had no discernible tint and another that looked like J color to me. So if it is a high I color, it could be fine for me, but it was a low I, then probably not. But others are totally happy even with j color since ideal cut stones are so bright and beautiful regardless of slight color. ACAs are great stones for sure!

I just purchased an I stone from WF and it turned out great! It has a g/h halo and there was no noticeable difference between the stone and halo.

How big is the stone?

Can you have it shipped out and look at it in-person? That's the only way to find out for sure what your eyes think. Some people are sensitive to colour and don't like tint, some are sensitive to colour and don't mind the tint, some are sensitive to colour and like the tint, and some don't see it at all! We've got PSers of all those sorts I think ::)

The stone is 1.8 carats.

Do you think there will be a noticeable difference between 1.7 and 1.8 carats?

As in 7.7mm versus 7.8mm? Knowing the diameters would help, but there is not a big difference. I think 1.8 is a great size since it is closer to 2 cts., but if I had a choice between 1.7 H color and 1.8 I color, I would choose the 1.7 H. Not sure if that is why you were asking, of course.

I should add that I think I color for studs can be a smart idea! mom2boy's studs are gorgeous!
