Hi All,

I''ve been doing a lot of research on engagement rings lately and I''ve narrowed down my search to the following three diamonds:

Diamond A
Diamond B
Diamond C

They are all similarly priced ACA H&A, ~1ct, H color, and SI1 clarity diamonds. The cut and size were my top priorities, followed by color, and lastly clarity. I''ve stared at the Ideal Scope images, photos, and AGS reports until I got cross-eyed and still can''t decide which one to go with. I guess it boils down to which one is the most eye-clean. How can you tell if the inclusions are on the surface or below?

Here are the Ideal Scope images and photos side-by-side for comparison (A-B-C):

Photo Comparison

I know I don''t need a VS2 or higher to have a beautiful ring but I need help deciding which of these three SI1s to go with.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hi arcane,

What I would do is first verify with WF which are eyeclean to your standards if you haven''t already done so, also you could ask for Brian to take a look at the diamonds and talk you through each one, therefore helping you decide which one is most suitable for you.

Ditto, rule out any that aren't eyeclean by your definition. In the event 2 are left, or all 3, have Brian pick the best one. Though that may be hard to do. In that case, flip a coin between 2 of them. You can't lose.

Diamond B looks like it has the inclusions off to the side more than the other 2. Diamond C has its inclusions in the center. They are all nice cuts and almost identical.
