Hi Pricescope Community,

We have found a stone that looks beautiful but wondering if there is anything negative we should know about the stone before we purchase? Have spent months researching, and this stone looks like it could be 'the one'.

Jeweller, who has been super patient and helpful, has done some analysis and taken some photos. Link is http://www.jogiadiamonds.com.au/dar/dar.php?reportnumber=GIA6162275088&ct=1.51

We were a bit worried about internal graining and the clouds. Does it look like a good buy with superior performance? It scored well on HCA. Images seem to be ok.

Also, we would like to set the stone in a knife edge Tiffany solitaire replica - does anyone know at what height the stone should be set to keep it as close to the original as possible?

Thanks for your help!!!

It looks pretty good. Table is a tad big, but should still be a nice diamond.

My only concern is that you're paying for a VS2, but it sure looks like it has a ton of inclusions. I have owned SI1 and SI2 stones with much cleaner plots. However, if it's not a mind clean issue and the price is good, I would go for it.

Numbers look good. Can you post the pictures? Are they saying it is eyeclean up close?

They provide you with all the images, pictures, reports which is great, the Idealscope image does show a spot of leakage that is rather white, or it is a image issue. I guess then my only concern would be what I would be paying for it vs. what I may be able to find elsewhere.

Depending on what I would be paying, maybe go down a bit in color to a G H or even I for a larger stone or to save money would be another couple of options.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, that's the first thing I thought when I saw the certificate - alot of inclusions for a VS2.

Stone doesn't have any black crystals and is eyeclean.

Price is approx $20k USD - a bit more expensive here in Australia. But if I buy the diamond from USA I would have to pay 15% tax plus the Australian dollar is weaker against USD.

Do you think the clarity of this stone poses issues to its performance? Idealscope image is also in the link I posted. Thanks.

Yes it's eye clean and the pictures and animation is on the same page of the link I posted. Also includes a Firetrace report following their analysis. What are your thoughts?

Thank you.

Cleanliness of a plot has nothing to do with severity of clarity. A stone is graded by a lab as VS2 or SI1 for a reason.

The plot should tell you the location of inclusions, which can be used sort of like your stone's fingerprint. It does not signify how 'major' or 'minor' the inclusions are.
