2.01ct L VS1 GOG SIGNATURE Old Mine Cushion Diamond

First of all - thanks to all the knowledgeable folks here... I''ve learned a ton in my search for the perfect engagement ring for my perfect lady . The ring is going to be a surprise, but I know that she loves the idea of a vintage / ornate look. I''ve fallen for this stone from GOG (and the old mine cushions in general), the L color scared me at first, but I''ve made a 180 and I think the warm tone will complement to overall feel of this ring (especially after seeing some of the stunners in this thread: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/show-me-your-avc-avoec-diamonds.123446/). I''m going with the TACORI 2620 setting, with their flush-fitting eternity band. Haven''t decided between WG or platinum yet... will one accentuate the stone more?

Attached is a picture Sarah took for me - it is the stone in question *sitting* on a sample TACORI 2620 setting (made for a 2ct Princess) to give me an idea...

Thanks for your input

Ooooh! Yummy! I''ve been eyeing that stone and the video Srah made. Absolultely GORGEOUS!!!

I think its beautiful and if the warmth of an L colour is something your fiance to be will embrace then its a super choice!

Another thumbs up from me! I think it is gorgeous! But like lorelei said about the color. Some of us on PS can really appreciate the
lower colors but not everyone can.

I think it''s a gorgeous choice, and that setting...yummy!

Very yummy... I love the L''s they''ve been putting out, they''re gorgeous. I think that any time you have a concern about the L color go check out AJ''s thread and your worries will be put at ease.

thanks so much for all your responses... i''m so excited about this ring i can barely keep my mouth shut around my girlfriend. i forgot to post the video that sarah made for me so here goes:

Absolutely beautiful stone!!! I personally love the "low colors" for their antique feel. I think they have a lot more character than many white stones. I am sure she will love it!!

Oooh.. perfect, perfect combo. We are on the wait list for a siggy cush and considering the Tacori 2620 as well.

Almost positive that I hung out with this stone a few weeks ago when Jon showed as a variety cushions to compare. The reason why we didn't select this stone was because it was below our trade in value and we prefer higher colors (my trade in was an H and I got accustomed to that color).

If the same one that I saw (again, almost positive) it is a VERY beautiful stone and I think you will be VERY pleased.

CONGRATS!!!

This is what I said out loud: "Oh my God, I love that diamond!"

All thumbs up on that stone. It's glorious.

ETA: If she's o.k. with the antique white colour, it'll be a magnificent stone.

thanks for everyone''s comments... any thoughts on WG vs platinum for a warm stone?

Whatever you prefer is my opinion.

I got a K VS2 OMC and had it set in platinum

I had an L OMC set in a white gold solitaire and it looked lovely. I''m trading to a J OMC and setting it in a platinum solitaire (my wedding band is plat and I want them to match, plus I have allergy concerns). I have a WG tacori RHR and it is beautiful, definitely more plat-looking than my other WG rings. I believe they use a palladium alloy that keeps it very white. If I got another tacori, I would get WG again just because theirs is so pretty.

So, ditto Lorelei! Get what you prefer, maybe think about what metal your wedding band will be so they ''match'' (ie. if you want a Leon Mege, maybe go plat then).

Thanks - I think I''m gonna go with the WG with the matching Tacori eternity band, and have the diamonds extend around the setting and band. I''m plotting to get her sized this weekend so that I can get it ordered.

Thanks for everyone''s input - I really appreciate it.

And by the way - I''ve been working with Sarah at GOG and she''s been incredibly helpful....

For anyone that''s interested, as much as I liked this stone itself, I couldn''t bring myself to go with the L for her Ering... a couple weeks ago Sarah called me and said that she had found something for me to look at; it''s not their August Vintage, but it''s exactly what I was looking for and it''s absolutley a knock-out I think...

Stats are: 2.02 I VS1 Signature Cushion - Antique Faceting

Here''s a video that Jon put together:

The stone is at Tacori as we speak, so keep your fingers crossed - I can''t wait to get it in!!

That is also one beautiful cushion! You can't go wrong with THIS one!! I can't wait to see this set in the Tacori! She's going to love it!!
