Hello diamond experts. I've finally got a round solitaire (1 ct, G, VS2) on hold which I'm planning to purchase from Blue Nile. I've verified this is eye clean, though will get it checked out during the return period. In the meantime, I'd love a warm fuzzy from the subject matter experts here, that there are no evident cut issues. I believe this one is generally in the sweet spot for depth, table, crown/pavilion angles, though its symmetry is less than perfect. Please would you let me know if I'm missing any red flags.

Thank you.

HCA is good. It has potential. Need an idealscope, but BN doesn't provide it. Get it and see if you like it -

That's what I thought as well ... thank you for the feedback.

Just sprang for an expert scope. Would like to have BN set the stone. From what I've read here, seems like the ideal scope should be able to provide some good info even with a set diamond, yes?

For some reason, the choice of an engagement ring has me paralyzed. I've bought houses and cars and professional degrees but this is messing with my mind in ways that buying houses has not ...

Would anyone care to offer an opinion on preference between the 1.0 ct G VS2 (GIA exc cut but VG symmetry) above, vs this 1.07 ct I-color VS1 (GIA 3x) BN sig ideal (0.4 HCA)? I think the peace of mind from better symmetry (plus a little extra size) might be preferable to the G color. http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD04599248?keyword_search_value=LD04599248

Whatever I order will be checked over, of course.
