About to order an US cleaner... Do i need the basket?

After doiing a bit of reading on here, I''ve decided to go with this Crest 1/2 gallon Crest 2 Quart Ultrasonic - Heat & Timer.

Do i need the basket with this? Its an extra $40... Would I just drop the ring in there if I didnt have the basket?

I would think a basket is safer...but I do not know the unit you are talking about. I am sure those with US cleaners, esp that make, will weigh in for you...

I have a much cheaper ultrasonic cleaner from Frontgate, but I like having a basket for my pave jewelry as I feel that it gets jumbled around less.
