hello all, i am about to purchase this diamond.
specs below...
now the saleperson told me that it was a ags triple 0 diamond, i then asked him if this diamond was also hearts and arrows and he said yes, all ags 000 diamnds are hearts and arrows.
now when i went on the site where i found this diamond the cut is "IDEAL" but there was one notch higher in the scale which was "Hearts and arrows Ideal", which this diamond is not but i was told was hearts and arrows.

so now i am confused again and need some clarification from the experts and opinions on the stone. Seems like a good stone to me.

price was roughly 5k usd

Hi Dandoon!

This looks like a great stone!

I ran the specs through the Holloway Cut Advisor and it scores 1.3, which falls right within the Tolokowsky Ideal Range! Yay!

A diamond with excellent symmetry will display the hearts and arrows you are referring to ... As far as I understand it, "Hearts and Arrows" for the most part is branding, however, AGS Triple 0 diamonds, will typically display the Hearts and Arrows effect.

Even though I am not an expert, all in all, from what I have learned so far, this stone is pretty much as good as it gets.

- AGS0 is the grading that all baby diamonds aspire to - It''s an excellent diamond! Get it while the getting is good!

thanks for the reply! i am also wondering about the inclusions of this stone, they are clouds located on the table of the stone.
here is a link to the stone under 9 and 18x mag

what do u guys think???
Personally, I would ask James Allen if this stone is "eye clean", especially since this particular inclusion is right in the table area. I would also define my expectation of "eye clean". To me it means not seeing any inclusions far away or close up or in regular lighting or under special lighting etc. I just don''t want to see an inclusion, unless it is under magnification. Others don''t mind if you cannot see the inclusions under regular lighting from a respectable social distance away. If the stones "eye cleanliness" is in alignment with your own, it looks like a good find. If not, keep on looking for another SI1 or try a VS1/2 to see if you can avoid this particular issue.

i agree that looking at the numbers this diamond is pretty spectacular. But it is not considered an Hearts an Arrows Ideal or Signature Collection, how much better does the diamond have to be to be considered this??? also would there be a noticeable difference or is it just a case of splitting hairs?

I have done lots of reading this past month and had started from zero knowledge, i am greatfull for this site and the people who are part of it!
But i find that with all this reading and information i have become a bit obssesed in my diamond search, i hope i am not the only one

Very pretty stone with nice numbers and good arrows. It may not have perfect H&A but to me the symmetry looks great enough. Others are more particular and want perfect arrows and hearts. This boils down to how picky your are? Note that once the stone is set, you cannot see the hearts anymore. You can still see the arrow under the viewer but how often are you going to do that? In real life, you''ll probably see a few arrows at a time if the lighting is just right.

As for the cloud... Are there any other inclusion listed on the cert? The stone looks pretty clean (other than the spots here and there under magnification which I doubt will be noticeable in person due to its size and the sparkle). Give JA a call and ask.

the inclusions listed on the cert are basically what u saw under the magnification, but in additional comments it says additional clouds not shown. So im not exactly sure what this means.
i have uploaded the cert

You''re best bet is probably to contact the vendor and ask them to assist with clarifying and/or verifying how this stone looks ...

ok i have sent an email for clarification with the vendor.
will keep you all posted.

I''d like to thank everyone in advance for their help and advice!

Clouds not shown is a common remark in the comments section of a grading report and it is mentioned for the sake of completeness - no worries and not an issue. They are mentioned and not plotted as they could be misleading on the plotting diagram.
