About to buy a RB 1.4ct GIA I diamond for E ring.

Hi, I am about to purchase a RB 1.4 ct GIA i color. VS1 clarity triple excellent.

Will it be a mistake getting I color do you think?

I did HCA of the stone and got a 0.8 I believe it was.

This one faces up a little bit bigger. Other one was about 7.05x7.02 or so.

Would I be better off going with the VS2 and H color instead of the VS1 and I color?

Both are GIA graded and diamond will be going in a white gold setting.

I found another one I am looking at now.


How much importance should I really weigh on the HCA results? I spoke with someone at Bluenile and they said as long as diamond is triple excellent not to put too much weight on HCA score especially since all stones I am looking at are GIA graded.


I found the setting locally I will be using so only buying the loose diamond.

Budget I was trying to stay around 8500 at most for the diamond. Bought the setting already which was around $800.

I found this one just now.

What do you think about it?

crown angle is 32
pavillion angle is 41.2

Seems the crown angle is not prime but doing the HCA the stone got a 1.7 on the scale which isn't bad.
