Hello there everyone,

I must start by saying that finding PS has been a blessing, its made my research on diamonds easy.
Thanks PS.

Moving on, my GF absolutely loves squarish cushion cuts. So I have a diamond in mind, but wanted some feedback...

So of importance to me and her..

Carat: Center diamond has to be 1ct or close.
Color: Near Colorless - Colorless is fine, if the the cut is Ideal/Premium
Clarity: I wanted to look in the VS1 or better range, but she seems okay with SI 1, saying "diamonds are naturally not perfect", which I kind of understand.

Other requirements, it should have some fire, scintillation, etc.

Here are the diamond specs:

Shape: Cushion
Lab Cert: GIA
Carat weight: 0.90
Cut: Ideal
Color: I
Clarity: SI1
Depth: 69.9
Table: 57
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Good
Girdle: Thin to very thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 5.77*5.31*3.71

Thanks in advance.

Sounds deep to me, and the Tn-VTk girdle suggest this will appear small for weight (and possibly a bit uneven). But I really don''t know anything about cushions. I am well prepared to stand corrected.

Since I''ve been lusting after a cushion, I will say that the one thing I read over and over here, is that cushions must be SEEN. They cannot be adequately assessed (like a RB frequently can) strictly by "the numbers". That and, unlike a RB, there is no ideal cushion cut, because the proportions that can be quite stunning vary pretty widely, as do the cut patterns for cushions.

I know when I finally get my coveted cushion, I will be contacting GOG and Mark T. at Engagement Rings Direct. GOG has gorgeous stones (that you can view on hi-def video!!) and Mark T. is known as "The Cushion Guy". I will also probably contact the Ice Store since they have the YELLOW cushions I love....

From the haze of memory, a table in the 50''s and a depth in the 60''s seems to be a decent combo, but again, you''re going to need to see it, as appearance varies widely.

Good luck!!

Good old Gold and Engage Rings Direct both great reputation for cushions.

Thanks for the feedback so far everyone.

I am in touch with GOG.. but my budget isn''t too high, and James Allen seems to fit my budget more.

However, GoG cushions are beautiful, and I''ll wait till maybe a good deal comes my way,

Question: My GF ring size is a 6. I''m worried a 0.8 to 0.9ct will look small on her finger. Does anyone have experience to answer this?

Thanks
