Hey all,
I am so glad to have found PriceScope. This is seriously THE resource for diamonds and discussions thereof. My long-time gf and I started shopping for engagement rings a few weeks ago (I wanted her to be included in the e-ring shopping experience, and she''s LOVING it so far).

We, being naive diamond shoppers, started at the typical mall stores, Zales, Kays, Fred Meyer''s, etc. We were consistently shown their "best" diamond rings, which looks like overpriced junk, sorry to say. We then went to larger chains, like Robbins Bros, where formal dressed men and women escorted us around with our very own ice cold cokes in hand. It was in these that she found a designer band that she really likes, a Tacori contemporary crescent. Granted this does not mean we will buy the band from them.

So now that the band is decided, it is my job to fill the empty setting with a beautiful diamond. I started scouring the internet for information about diamonds, as I am one of those people who like to be "in the know" when it comes to large purchases. After filling my head to the limit I went back to the larger chain stores since they seemed to be the only ones, that I knew of, that stocked loose diamonds. They showed me all sorts of stones, but the majority (if not all) were of medium to poor cut.

As of lately, I am getting extremely frustrated with these local stores pushing and pushing me to purchase something.

I like taking my time and making sure I am making a sound purchase, (though my gf probably will not let me spend a year looking for that "perfect" diamond).

I found this site which seems to think very highly of WF and GOG. After looking at some of their diamonds on these two sites, I am glad I didn''t purchase locally. There seems to be much better quality diamonds out there.

I just wanted to express that although I am a bit nervous about buying a diamond over the internet, after reading through so many happy stories on the forums here, my anxiety has subsided a bit. So thank you PS for showing me the light!!!!

Now the real search begins....

Hi holy,

I''m glad you found us too!

And believe me, I understand your hesitancy, I was there too, big time. To make a long story short, I fiinally made my first online diamond purchase with GOG for my upgrade. I couldn''t be happier, and it couldn''t have gone any better. They are great to work with.

After I got my feet wet, so to speak, I purchased some studs from WF, and just fill in with the above description.

You can''t go wrong with either one, truly.

Good luck in your search, and if you have any questions, just ask!
