That "How long do your sheets last?" thread got me wondering . . .

Doesn't all that lady-gunk get all over your pillowcase . . . make up . . . lip stick . . . hair spray . . . moisturizer . . . wrinkle cream . . . mud packs . . . oatmeal . . . guacamole . . . cucumber slices . . . etc .?

I prefer to wash my face before bed, so no. Haha. I do put moisturizer on my face, but no more than anyone else does - I don''t slather it on in layers.

I rarely use any of those except for some make-up...but I do try to remove all of it before bed :)

I don''t wear makeup or cucumber slices

. All that might get on my pillow would be my moisturizer (though I''m going to assume the majority of it absorbs into my skin ..)

Not very long for us. I would say I probably buy them once a year. But, Im very good about always removing my makeup before bed (used to be a makeup artist so Im well aware of the consequences of not doing so), I just love the way new sheets feel. The dogs get our old sheets for their dog bed covering when we are finished with them.

ETA- So I totally thought you were asking How often do you get new sheets, guess I need to read more carefully. Oops, haha.

Consequences?
What could possibly happen?

Oh my. That picture is disgusting. I''m glad my son wasn''t sitting here with me when I opened this thread.

Oh my god, that picture is GREAT, I love your sense of humor. If you leave makeup on overnite constantly not only will it give you horrible skin problems (blackheads, white heads, etc) but it can give you premature wrinkles. I do not want to rush the wrinkles, let them come on their own without my help.

I don''t wear makeup (well, sometimes mascara but I remove it before bed). I don''t use hair styling products. And definitely no oatmeal or cucumber slices. I guess moisturizer or sunscreen could be an issue but it is not like I am slathered in it when I go to bed and I always wash my face and such before bed. Generally I also have a shower at night. And it is no different than DH who likes to moisturize before bed too (he also likes a shower at night most of the time too).

Ahem...

Men should not even worry about what we get on the sheets...

something about glasshouses and stones?

HAHA!

And kenny... really? There is such a thing fortunately known as SOAP. It works wonders.

I thought ladies used more lady gunk (like cold cream) to clean off lady gunk.

I go to bed clean too. The "lady gunk" that I worry about getting on the sheets is far more gross than anything you''ve mentioned....

Of your list, I only use moisturiser and sometimes mineral makeup, but that goes on first thing in the morning, so it''s pretty much gone by bedtime. I wash too, which helps.

DH called it ''ladies'' ointment'' which I think is marginally nicer if not less disparaging that ''lady gunk'' LOL. I stopped it being funny for him by making him buy it for me.

I wash my face before bed but I put on acne cream, so yeah, I get stuff on my pillow. We bought new sheets too and now I''m ticked b/c they''re burnt orange, and my pillowcase looks like it''s been bleached.

I use a satin pillowcase (my hair regimin is pretty in depth) On my face, I wear nothing before bed.

but geez kenny.. suprised you didn''t mention cream pie. but luckily for me thats never on a pillow case.

I once had a guy room mate who got his . . . make up . . . lip stick . . . hair spray . . . moisturizer . . . wrinkle cream . . . mud packs . . . oatmeal . . . guacamole . . . cucumber slices . . . etc . all over my sheets and towels.

I wash my face before bed, so no make up. I do moisturize, so I''m sure some of that gets on my pillowcase. DH''s pillowcase gets thrashed. He''s bald, so all the oils from his head get all over his pillowcase. There''s no getting it out no matter how much bleach I use.

I don''t wear make up often and just mascara and sometimes lipstick. I don''t remove it before I go to bed but it doesn''t seem to leave streaks on the sheets. In the morning the lipstick is nowhere to be seen and mascara is usually on a bit with some of it flaking under my eyes.

I think women are great.
They make more men.

Uh Oh, I gotta run now.

I''m a before-bedtime showerer too, especially in the summer. Mosquitos here are really bad (they''re expecting a crazy outbreak in the next 1-3 weeks again) and if I''m outside at all in the evenings I have to douse myself with Deep Woods Off or I get bit like crazy. The past two summers have been just awful for bugs here. You aren''t supposed to sleep with the chemical DT on your skin (carcinogenic) so I shower every night rather than let it marinate into my skin overnight.

Ha ha, I don't miss that about Manitoba (the mosquito is the provincial bird...ha ha).

I actually shower 2x a day. In the morning after my run, and at night after I get home from work, after I do hot yoga, or right before bed.

My morning shower is only about 4-5 minutes. I don't wash my hair then as it is so thick it takes FOREVER to dry. It is more to rinse off from my run and the like. I don't sweat a lot so am not worried about sweaty hair! So my evening shower is my longer shower (i.e. 20 minutes) where I wash my hair, shave and all that, and I like to feel all clean before I go to bed (i.e. no sunscreens and such on anymore).

Same here, we all shower right after suppertime. No pets in bed but My pillowcase shows some moisturizer time to time, doesn't bother me, they get all washed twice a week.
