I like dresses #1 and #4.

i like #4 best, but that beaded line across your butt is a bit odd to me.

Theyre all pretty but #4 is definitely my favorite (and apparently everyone else''s too). You will be glistening and sparkling all day in that gown!

I''ve got to go with #2!!! Its so unique and you look so great it in! Do what you like the best though and let us know what you decide!!

I''m going to go with four too, your figure really shines through. But I agree with SG, that a few more dresses (I know you tried on quite a few) wouldn''t hurt. What your budget Octavia? Maybe we can suggest a few?

for sure #4.... by far the most flattering! i love it!

i dig #4.

I LOVE #4 on you.

Love number 4!! My preference is 4, 1, 3, 2

I love # 4 also. I think the mermaidy shape shows off your figure the best!

I love how number 2 looks on you - the shape is perfect for you, but I think there is a little too much going on. The sweetheart neckline is great.

I think I would keep looking and see if I could find something like number 4 but with a sweetheart neckline.

You truly look great in all of them!

Another vote for #4! But I agree with the ladies who suggested trying on a few more, just to see what you might find.

Just to buck the trend, I think I would like #3 best if it fit you better.

Number 4!!

Of these, I like #4, but I feel like you should try on more dresses in that silhouette. You''ve got the shape nailed, but there seems to be so much going on with the beading, and the lace overlay and the huge train. I would check some other salons and request trying on some more mermaids, because you rock them!

Wow, thanks so much, everyone! I just got home from work and I''m amazed at all the responses!

I''m not dead set on any of these dresses, but I definitely like #4 best. The shape just felt right, and although it seemed kind of busy when I first put it on, by the time I took it off I had started to get used to it. And the photos actually look much subtler than it felt! I think those of you who said that it''s got a little too much going on are probably right, but it was the closest I''ve tried to what I''ll probably end up with.

My budget is $1500 max, although less is always good. The #3 and #4 dresses are Private Label, and although I was hoping to try some Maggie Sotteros, that particular salon didn''t have the styles I especially liked (but was the only salon nearby that carried Maggies and was open when I wanted to go). I''m all for trying some more dresses on, I thought it was a lot of fun.

If anyone has particular dress suggestions in mind, by all means put them out there. I''m actually starting to have a good time with the wedding planning now that I''ve tried on some gowns and WE BOOKED A VENUE!! Woo hoo! And honestly, it''s so nice to share with you all, the support you give is exactly why I love this forum

#4, #3, #1 #2. But really 4 by a long shot!

#4! The horizontal stripes in number 1 emphasize width rather than elongating you.

I don't think it is too busy, you are a bride, you are supposed to be the center of attention and if it is going to be the most expensive dress you ever own, it ought to look it, imo.

I also think that if you didn't love any of them enough to know without PS's help, none of them is "the dress".

Here are a few I like that are a similiar shape/look:

http://www.moncheribridals.com/CollectionProductDetail.aspx?cname=Bridals&did=0&pid=502045&year=2008&season=Spring&best=True& similiar to style 4

http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?page=2&style=J1177 this one has some lovely details but is a little simpler

http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?page=19&style=J1152 I love the shape of this dress

http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?page=20&style=S5104 there is something about this dress I just adore, maybe too dramatic, but might be worth a try

Ooh, thanks brazen. I love the Demetrios, and at first glance I actually thought the Mon Cheri was a Sophia Tolli. Maybe I should try a couple more dresses with the detailing at the waist like the ones you posted. Don''t get me wrong, I did REALLY like #4, but people talk about putting on a dress and knowing instantly that it''s the right one, and that didn''t happen. It''s a dress I''d be happy wearing, but I didn''t instantly think, "it''s THE dress." Some of the suggestions and things people have pointed out are helping me narrow down some reasons why that might be, so when I go for my next round of try-ons, I can weed them out more quickly.

#4 is very becoming on your figure. It fits nicely through the waist and hips and emphasizes your small waist. It gets my vote! I like the beading, very elegant.

I really don''t like any of them. Sorry.

I agree with Surf, most of these dresses are wearing you. I know there is something out there that''s really going to stand out and show your figure off to its absolute best.

None of them read quality to me. They all look like someone''s repurposed quinceanera dresses from their sweet 16. Especially number 2

I''m not opposed to detail but the sparkly stuff just looks bargain basement

Since budget is important, here are a couple of David''s gowns that I thought might be worth trying on.

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3357&prodgroup=10 - lace halter

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3064&prodgroup=10 - a little less beading than the others you tried on

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3000&prodgroup=10 - another in lace

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2637&prodgroup=10 - organza trumpet

IMO, the things that work best on you as highlighted in #4 are the mermaid shape and the slight sweetheart neckline.

I think something like this, with a lace jacket (shown) would be stunning. But I go for the less ornate styles, generally. Less is more.

Number 4 is by far the best one. It really is a beautiful gown. I notice that 1 - 3 are stripey. 1 and 2 horizontal and 3 vertical. I rarely think teirs are flattering. Okay read never.... 4 is really nice though and would look fantastic in candle light in the evening..

You have a great figure! another vote for number 4!

# 4!!!!!!!!!!! #2 is runner up

Wow, I definitely think you HAVE to try on the second dress that Lauren posted from Davids! I think it would be perfect on you!

Octavia, I think Ebrees gown with the lace bolero would look amazing on your figure...

#4 ALL THE WAY!!!! IT''S BEAUTIFUL ON YOU! THEN #2!!
