Hi Everyone,

Well I would like to extend my hand and welcome David from DiamondsbyLauren. Dave I have seen many of your post over on Diamondtalk and would like to welcome you here. I also have done business with Dave in the past. That was before Pricescope or DiamondTalk even existed..Who knew huh Dave...

I know he does not need anyone to attest to his character, but I just wanted to let everyone know he is legite and friendly & answered many of my questions years ago when it came to my diamond purchase and seems very knowledgable in the field of fancy colored diamonds...

Welcome aboard Dave...

For everyone on the board who formerly knew my sign on name as scorpion, I have changed it to the Colored Gemstone Nut because of my admiration and addiction to learning and studying colored gems. My hobby has turned into quite the addiction and I am currently pursuing my GG through the GIA correspondance courses.

(Just a side note that has nothing to do with this thread)

Dave glad to see ya here........

Wow Scorp...pursuing your GG!! You are much more dedicated than I turned out to be...the first class was great but alas I am not a fan of structured schooling.

I learn more on Pscope than I would in those classes anyway and its free here! But keep me posted on your progress, and your interest as the classes wear on.... how fun for you! Remote or on-site?

Yeah Mara...I agree you learn a more broad range of knowledge here. The distance class offers the flexibility of working at your own pace from home. It would be unrealistic for me to drop everything and go on campus. With my current situation, the flexibility is a great option for me and Regina works for Alaska Airlines. This way when it comes time to do the mandatory hands on extension classes, I will be able to travel at a very reasonable rate (almost free) which will save me money.

I am not a fan of stuctured schooling either, but am staying on course for the duration. Regina and I will be going to Mexico in January to get some much needed time away....

Hello David. Welcome to PS.

You'll enjoy the give and take you'll find here; however, the road might be a bit rocky at the start!

Hello David. Looking forward to your contributions.

Hey, Colored Gemstone Nut,

I did not know you could take GIA courses via correspondance....I thought I either had to go to NY or Calif. Is there a place online that I can find out more info. My whole diamond search had interested me so that I think I would like to study this as well. Any infor you have would be helpful. Thanks Stephcola

They are pricey but if you intend to pursue a degree, worth it!

Hi Everyone-
Thanks to all who've welcomed me here! With special note to an old friend, from Alaska!
I'll try and answer questions if I feel I can add something, and I hope to add a positive note whenever I post.

Here's a ring we made which was quite distinctive- it is a 2.52 carat faint yellow/brown Asscher/Emerald?!
Difficult to classify, but quite beautiful nonetheless!
It was flanked by 1.17 carats total weight of emerald cut diamonds

Wow! That's a beautiful ring! Looks like a... chandelier!

Gorgeous.

wow, now I know what women mean when they talk about an asscher cut and how they "fall" into it.

Hi Dave, welcome to Pricescope.
