A Toppest Quality Diamond Or 3 Decent Quality Diamond?

If you have $40,000, do you buy a best quality diamond with 1 Carate, Excellent Cutting, FL Clarity, D Color? or 3 Diamonds with 1 Carate, Excellent cutting, vvs2 Clarity, F Color?
the purpose is for collection and investing.
By the way, what about colored diamond? are they worth of buying?
I am going to go to overseas soon, and I can get a 10% gst return on a loose diamond, that's why I thought it might be a good chance to buy a loose diamond...

ummm, Not really, I am in Australia, if I take the diamond overseas, I can get 10% gst return, and currently AUD is high: 1.07, I thought it is good to buy or invest something like diamond.
