My first Peter Torraca stone from his new drop. Citrine asscher - 2.61 ct., 8.18 mm.

I love the cut (I''ve been wanting a PT asscher for a while now) and it''s a gorgeous stone!

Wow, that''s a really pretty yellow - now we both have our sunshine stones for the remainder of winter, lol! I love the group shots too - gorgeous stones!

Very pretty! BTW I''m sure I''ve said this before but I love your kitty cat! He/she has such beautiful coloring.

Very lovely and sunny!

Woo hoo! You did really great on that one.

Laura

Thanks Oddoneout, Arcadian, Cellentani, Innerkitten, MTG and Largosmom!

And if you guys have suggestions on how to set it, please tell me! I don''t want yellow gold because I never wear it, and I was toying with the idea of a bezel like Neatfreak''s, but it''s kind of big. I have no idea what to do with it.

No clue about the setting but congratulations on your fabulous stone!

Gorgeous!! Love the color.

Wow, I love this picture--the colors are so pretty! I like your idea of a Neatfreak bezel too.

very nice..such a lively stone!!!

I''m sure it''ll be beautiful whatever you do with it, but have to say that the idea of yellow gems in rose gold has been bugging me lately, wonder how that would look. But a white gold bezel won''t do any harm to this beauty I believe, as it doesen''t seem to have strong orangy undertones (which might make it a not so pretty color in white gold), it''s more of a golden yellow and that can work in any color metal - especially in cut as nice as this one!

A pleasant colour for a citrine with very pretty cutting.

WOW that's a stunner.

And it looks great with the rest of it's new family!!

Does that green stone have a thread???? I'd like to read it...

ETA: How about claw prongs!! Oh yeah!!

What a pretty yellow and the cut is amazing!

Gotta say I love this shot of the red, yellow and green stones together. Such bright and cheerful colors!

Beautiful citrine!

Beautiful BEG!!!!!! Love that colour, and of course, that it's an asscher!

What about setting it as a 3 stone with some step cut trap diamonds or coloured stones of some sort?

Also, don't be afraid of yellow gold. I've never been a yellow gold fan, but after setting my grossular in yellow gold, I've gotten past my fear of mixing metals and I pretty much wear it 5x a week! Just a thought . . .

Gorgeous BEG, we can be PT yellow citrine asscher twinnies!

Although I have lots of lovely stones now, my citrine asscher from Peter was my first and is my favourite.

Very pretty! I think that''s one of the most gorgeous citrines I''ve ever seen.

Thanks Crasru, Catmom, Burberrygirl, Amethystguy, Ma re, Chrono, Stone Hunter, Brandy, Kribbie, Fly Girl, Lauren, Gailey and IndyLady!

Ma re I'm kind of curious about yellow stones and RG too. I wonder if the color combination would be gorgeous, or gaudy, you know? Possibly an idea is if I decide not to a do a bezel, maybe RG prongs or basket on a WG shank? I'll have to think about this!

Chrono Peter's cutting really is superb, isn't it? This is the first stone I've gotten from him, and the moment I received it, I really wanted another asscher from him (especially those aquas!) Love his faceting/

Stone Hunter thanks! I think I have a thread with pictures (of the green tourm and a few other stones) but the better pictures are in my gallery (link under my avatar). Those have some more recent pictures that show off the color and cutting better. This is one of my favorite stones and it bugs me that I haven't set it yet (in case you guys haven't noticed, I like to set pretty much all my stones!

) I'm trying to figure out the perfect setting for it and it just hasn't come to me yet, sadly. And love the idea of claw prongs! Maybe I'll send this one off to BGD....after seeing their claws on my mom's upgrade diamond, my local jeweler's claws just can't compare!

Lauren I meant to add in my first post - I love your grossular in the YG, and that (plus your e-ring) was where I was getting the idea of bezeling my citrine

It would look gorgeous in a rich buttery YG setting - I'm just afraid I won't wear it! I'll have to think about it though - it would be a gorgeous combo I think! Ooh I'm loving the idea of a three stone with trap sides though! Gosh so many great ideas - thank you all!

Gailey yay for being PT citrine asscher twins! Have you set yours btw? Did I miss that?

BEG, no you didn't miss anything. I haven't set my stone yet - I'm slow!

I think my asscher is too large for a ring that I could wear comfortably. at nearly 9mm deep it will just sit too high for me.

So it's destined for a pendant. I want to set it on point and hang another gem (fan shaped) from it.

If you are concerned about yellow gold being too gaudy, why don't you go for a white/yellow gold combo. My ER is like that and I love it.

Very pretty! I love the color of that citrine.
