So, does one prong style beat another?

Are claw prongs safer than regular straight prongs? What about the WF heart shaped prong? I want my diamond to be set with four, not six, but I want it to be safe... what''s the way to go?

My RHR has four straight prongs, but it''s set in a halo, so it seems safer to me; am I daft or is that true? Oh, and the prongs on my RHR are also constantly catching lint that I need tweezers or a spray air can (think keyboard cleaning) to remove, should I go to the jeweler and have them fixed or is that normal? The stone''s not loose or anything, but it bothers me. Thoughts?

choose the prongs you want and just have your ring checked every 6 months or so to make sure nothing is loose...

oh and make sure you have insurance...anything can happen to any ring no matter how *safe* it's supposed to be. One gal recently had her stone come out of a bezel setting which is supposed to be the safest.

I had a ring with double prongs (claw-like) and one broke off after wearing it for 2 days! You can see pics of it on some of my other posts.
