Hey PS,

After seeing a few threads on here with some debate about the difference between a super ideal diamond and a non super ideal, I started looking at some non super ideals just to get an idea of what they're like. Some the difference is obvious, but I'm having trouble when staring at these two in particular (without the ASET's it seems pretty hard).

True Hearts, AGS0 H VVS2

GIA (no cut grade), JA designated 'very good

There is a pretty significant difference in table, but, at least on my laptop screen, I don't see a whole lot of difference in light performance from the images.

I was wondering if the princess experts around here (or anyone really!) could inform me of their guess as to light reflection variance between these two stones, just for my own education. I'm probably missing something, I usually am haha. Thanks!

It is hard to see.

The AGS0 has more contrast. The dark zones are a little darker and the flashes of the facets are faster in the AGS0.

But yes, you are ABSOLUTELY right. It is very hard, via the JA videos to judge performance of stones relative to each other when things are close.

And ASET would be the best tool, other than a gemologist's exam or a side by side video, to tell you how the stones perform in comparison to each other.
