Ok,
I posted several months ago about pink stones, so I am sorry for the repetition. Here is my question:

I would like a ring with a pink stone (maybe a tourmaline?) in a white gold ring with a halo. I prefer diamonds, but I saw this one with a filigree setting which is nice too. It''s on ebay and I am not sure if I trust the quality of the stone....

So, can anyone help me find a pink stone .5-.75 carat that will cost under 300 in the setting? Is this totally wishful thinking???

and here is the 2nd look:

I like the more oval look of the first ring.

and finally, I side view. Any help would be great...thanks guys!

I don''t think you''ll be able to find a quality halo type setting in that price range. An inexpensive pink stone should not be a problem, spinels are really nice. But those kinds of setting are really work intensive.

Thanks for the reply icekid. What do you think would be more realistic? I imagine filigree would be cheaper than if I did a diamond halo......I wonder if instead of going custom, if I can find a stock setting?

I guess what I wonder is what depth etc should I be looking for when I am looking online? I have looked at spinels and they look lovely...

I like, spinels, they are very lovely too. I am looking for a rich dark pink, but not as red as a ruby.

I will keep surfing and looking around! thanks...

no way.
they are beautiful though!

No way to which? The filigree being cheaper?

Do you really mean three HUNDRED dollars or three THOUSAND? If you''re thinking three hundred I can''t help ya ... ebay has seriously skewed your perception of what prices are. I was at Kohl''s the other day and THEIR halo rings were over $500. KOHL''S!!! (think Burlington Coat Factory if you don''t have one).

Pearlman''s has this beauty if you can scrape up a few more dollars..

item: 040PO1 - A great 18kt white gold diamond and natural hot pink tourmaline. the ring is set with 50 f/c diamonds weighing total .27ct. SI G-H. The tourmaline measures 10mm x 8mm and weighs 2.74ct. Ring size 6 1/4 Price: $1,000.00

hehehe...sorry sophie, i must have been posting the same time as you before. the ''no way'' was to finding a stone and setting such as those you posted for $300. it''s hard enough to find a quality solitaire setting for a reasonable price, so to get something with any kind of detail is going to be very difficult.

oooohhh...nice find mrs salvo!

sophie, i think the ring mrs s posted is more of the price range you will be seeing if you want more than just a simple (very simple) setting.

it''s gorgeous! I love that ring Mrs.S,
but I definately can''t spend that kind of money right now... what I will probably do is find "the ring" and then save up enough for it.
We just bought our own business and are visiting my husband''s brother in the Bahamas right now, so extra cash is nil at the moment!

What stone should I be looking for: a Spinel, Tourmaline, quartz? something else? I would rather not get a sapphire, bc that is my birthstone and I have several blue one''s and I would like to try something different.

Also, Since my fingers aren''t the thinnest, I think I would like a bit thicker band than the gorgeous one from Pearlman''s.

makemepretty,
thank you for the links, they are very pretty!
I realllllly like the first ring, however since my e-ring is a princess cut, I would like a different shape. I think I am leaning towards an oval?
But I like that one alot! and the 3rd one. Thanks for the reply and I am glad to have seen a few in my price range! lol

i''ve ordered a few things through ice.com, they have decent stuff, the stones aren''t always that great (windows etc. sometimes) but overall, not too bad.

You should see it in person - pics (of course) don''t do it justice - the gallery view is beatiful!

Hi SanDiegoLAdy,
