My fiance is amused watching me sneak looks at my e-ring while driving, at stores to see how it sparkles under different lights, even in the dark of the movie theatre. Last night at dance class he caught me doing it as I put my arm on his to practice the waltz. So he asked me: "Are you taking a sparkle break?"

Yes indeed. Glad he found a name for what has become a new hobby of mine

I''m literally laughing out loud! That''s too cute! I think I''m taking a sparkle break right now...

Are you guys waltzing as your first dance? How romantic...

LOL...my FI is always teasing me about that. Then last night I took my ring off and put it on his pinky before I started doing the dishes and told him not to lose it. He started clearing the table as I began washing dishes and I noticed he got very quiet. I looked up and he was staring at the ring..I asked what was wrong and he was like "wow...it''s so sparkly...all the rainbows are distracting!!!" I started cracking up and he laughed and said..."it makes me feel powerful...does it make you feel powerful?" lol...what a silly guy my hunnie is!

Just so you know, this obsessive behavior does not end. I''ve been married for nearly 20 years, and I STILL stare down at my rings and smile. I particularly like Home Depot, where my husband is in his own heaven. So he gets to shop for drill bits and I get to stare at my sparkly.

I am cracking up too. I haven''t had a sparkle break in nearly 20 years also. It never ends seriously!!! Too funny,

I am always staring at my ring. In the car, at the grocery store, etc...

Isn''t that what having a diamond is all about? Bringing a smile to one''s face -- a little happiness to one''s life? Sure there are many things in life I could spend my hard-earned dollars on, but enjoying my diamonds still makes my heart go pitter-pat.

good to hear. i hope in 20 plus years i feel the same way!! i''m sure i will..

I think I will be the same way. I get distracted by my RHRs and they''re only two small 0.50ctw each eternity bands. I can''t wait to be able to google over my big rock! Hee.

It''s a wonderful thing.

Happy to hear the obsession continues over the years, of course, who could ever get tired of looking at something so beautiful

Brightspot, we are doing the waltz for our first dance. We''ve been taking classes for a couple of months now but I still feel a bit lost. We are learning how to rumba, chacha and tango also and it''s been the most humbling experience to realize it''s a lot harder than it looks

hehe... it hasn''t got old for me, but it''s only been a year! FI catches me staring at my bling occasionally too... he''s like, do you ever think of ME when you stare at it? or do you just admire how shiny it is?!!!

Ha ha, you girls are so funny! I do the same thing with my rings all the time. I have almost had car accidents before because of staring at my ring while I''m driving. Sometimes when the sun is shining through the car windows the light reflecting off my rings creates a prism effect on the interior of the car..I have also been on planes and had that happen, it''s so cool! Yeah, I am totally into sparkle breaks, and my husband says the same thing to me, do you love me or the ring more? Awwww....of course I love him more!!
