Hello. It''s my first post here. I purchsed H&A and a setting from WF last year. Within a few months I started wearing my ring (it''s ''diamonds for an eternity''), one of the melee diamonds fell out.

Luckily, I could find it and have the diamond set back on my ring but I have been traumatized by my experience and I have been frantically looking at it like every 10 min. to check since then. I am obsessed with it.
I am thinking about changing a setting to something else. I still like to go with WF and this time, I would like to choose something a little more durable than the diamonds for an eternity.

I have been looking at these settings. Would you let me know which one you think the best for durability?

I know I should go for a solitaire ring if I don''t want to worry about melee but I can''t help it. I love diamonds!

Any advice will be appreciated. thank you!

What size is your stone? The champaigne setting is beautiful but I believe it will be nowhere near as delicate looking as your current setting. I am in the process of looking for a new setting too and am very indecisive but if I was forced to choose one today, it would have to be the champaigne setting. Pretty sure that there would be no durability issues with that one. Good Luck!

Any setting with diamonds is subject to the possibility of losing small stones. So to change what you have to one of those really does not accomplish your purpose!

I have the flush-fit setting and absolutely love it, but I just assume a diamond will fall out in the future. The diamonds are bead set and look much more delicate in person than in the WF picture. While I love the way the ring looks, I think the shared-prong set I switched from was sturdier when it comes to the side diamonds. I''m not super careful with my ring, so I figure one of the side diamonds will fall out sooner or later!

I went with a channel setting because I would be sooooo paranoid about losing stones from a pave setting, I''m paranoid enough about bashing my tsavorite, so I know just how you feel!

There is no diamond that is guaranteed to never fall out, unfortunately.

My daughter has a wedding ring with bezel set diamonds and sapphires, and do you know one of her diamonds fell out! BEZEL SET!

The only way to be absolutely sure that you won''t lose melee is to not HAVE any melee. Otherwise, it might just happen.

Maybe a gorgeous solitaire would work for you? But even then, you gotta get that single diamond checked regularly... those big ones fall out, too!!!

My stone size is 1.3 cart. The cnampaigne setting is my husband''s favorite. I guess he likes a unique setting. I like this one too but I like Halo setting, too. I am so indecisive, too! Best of luck to you finding your setting, too!

Thanks for your realistic opinion. I guess I just need to stop being obsessive about diamond falling out of my ring anymore.

Like other people say, I guess I just have to expect diamonds will fall out sometime. oh...I don''t want to lose it anymore though..
thanks for your realistic answer!

Thank you! it''s so nice to know I am not the only one. Is channel setting a little more sturdier? Then, I should start thinking about it. I am very new to this area (diamond etc.),so any kind of advice helps!

Lynn B,

Thanks for a warning! Yes, I certainly need inspections. I absolutely do not want to lose my biggest diamond. And I just have to live with the fact diamonds do fall out sometimes.

a channel setting is considered to be sturdier. you could also have a 4 prong setting that are sturdy as well. personally, I love the look of pave and researched it a ton before buying my ring. it is possible to lose a stone but i''m willing to baby my ring and deal with an occasional loss for the overall look of the ring. If it really is a hassle you don''t want to deal with, a channel set ring would be better, or go the solitaire or 3 stone route.
