I keep hearing this song on the radio at work, and every time I hear it I remember when my DH and I were LD for a short time, then I think of some of the gals here on PS who are LD and I wanted to share it. Well, the lyrics, that is. It''s by Plain White Tees, and it''s called "Hey There Delilah." It''s such a pretty song, I just love it!

Hey There Delilah Lyrics

Hey there Delilah
What''s it like in New York City
I''m a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Time Square cant shine as bright as you
I swear it''s true
Hey there Delilah
Don''t you worry about the distance
I''m right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice it''s my disguise
I''m by your side
Oh it''s what you do to me
Oh it''s what you do to me
Oh it''s what you do to me
Oh it''s what you do to me
What you do to me
Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I''ll pay the bills with this guitar
We''ll have it good
We''ll have the life we knew we would
My word is good
Hey there Delilah
I''ve got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I''d write it all
Even more in love with me you''d fall
We''d have it all
Oh it''s what you do to me
Oh it''s what you do to me
Oh it''s what you do to me
Oh it''s what you do to me
A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they''ve got planes and trains and cars
I''d walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
And we''ll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time that we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you''re to blame
Hey there Delilah
You be good and don''t you miss me
Two more years and you''ll be done with school
And I''ll be making history like I do
You''ll know it''s all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here''s to you
This one''s for you
Oh it''s what you do to me
Oh it''s what you do to me
Oh it''s what you do to me
Oh it''s what you do to me
What you do to me
wooooohwooooooooh woooooooooh

That's so cute Monnie! My sweetie's in northern NJ so pretty darn close to NY, it's only about 800 miles or so, and I'll be done with my grad work in 1 year, but close enough right? Now I need to download it so I can hear it.

Irish, it''s on Q101 like 5 times a day, hee hee...I don''t know if you listen to that station but I have been for a couple weeks now at work (I have to change the station every few weeks as most of the stations have those playlists that get a little tedious after you''ve heard them 14 times, lol). Anyway, I do remember you saying you and your FI were LD...here''s to the months going by quickly (to you and everyone else in a LD relationship!)

When DH and I were dating LD, our "song" was Vanessa Carlton''s "A Thousand Miles," it''s still one of our faves. I even bought the sheet music and learned it on the piano last year, and it was also the theme song for that Avon Breast Cancer walk I did last spring...it''s another one of those great LD love songs. Mushy, I know, but sometimes that''s what keeps a couple close despite the physical distance, ya know?

Seriously, I haven't listened to Q101 in forever and a day! I'll check it out more often. Thanks for the well wishes...very sweet of you. =) Anyway, I noticed in the Chicago thread you're just west of the loop...you probably live right by my grandma! Haha! Just thought that was funny. ;-)

Oh, that IS funny, what a small world. Yup, gotta love the west burbs...hop on the train and it''s downtown in 15-20 minutes, and since we usually walk to the train station we never worry about parking! Give me a shout sometime when you visit your grandma, we can meet for coffee or whatever.
