When my bestest buddy got engaged, I was browsing for a really nice card for her, to sum up how happy and excited I was for her and her new fiance. She knew that I had been hanging our for years to be engaged, and she was such a good sport about never rubbing it in, and being very encouraging with me whenever we talked about getting married.

I stumbled across a card that said:

Front - You''re Engaged!!!! (big bright happy lettering)

Inside - Well, I''ll just go and throw myself off a bridge then. Congratulations.



It was so funny I nearly had tears rolling down my cheeks reading it in the supermarket. I was so tempted to get her that card, as she would have totally seen the funny side of it (and how I really didn''t feel that way), but I was concerned how others would view it if they saw it. After their engagement party, I told her about it, and she said she would have loved it!! I guess, it would only be given from one very close friend to another!!
