I wanted to do something special for myself to celebrate getting through my medical emergency a couple of months ago, so I decided to make myself a custom pendant with Whiteflash in a design I've been dreaming about for some time. I contacted WF, quickly got my quote and then the search was on for the center stone. Over the Labor Day weekend, I cruised through all of our vendors vitual inventories and one particular stone kept screaming "I'm the one". I looked for the best price and it was with I.D. Jewelry. I gave Yekutiel a call first thing Tuesday morning, and within five minutes he had the diamond in his hands, louped it and gave it his seal of approval. He urged me to come in and loupe it for myself before he sent it off to Houston, and I did just that the next day. I'm so happy that I finally met this man in person, since so many PSers have been so satisfied with his work and with his service. I actually had a very good time meeting him and his wife Tami (what a sweetheart!), talking diamonds, talking Pricescope and talking in general. Though I was spending a relatively small amount of money compared to other people who came in, I was treated with a great deal of attention, respect and care. I was very pleased with the entire experience.
Once my pristine little .62 pointer was bought and paid for, Yekutiel looked at the estate diamond my husband and I bought some time ago. I explained that I was really really nervous walking through the diamond district alone with this stone on me, so this lovely man wrapped my diamond, put it in his pocket and personally escorted me to GIA. He took me through the ID check-in and finger printing process, all the way upstairs on the elevator and deposited me in a chair safely in the waiting room of the grading lab. Not only was I impressed , but my husband (who was home supervising some work being done at our house) was thrilled.
It was an interesting, informative and educational couple of hours and I encourage anyone who is thinking of shopping the New York city diamond district to pop in and see Yekutiel & Tami. I saw so many things that have appeared on our pages here. There was too much to take in at one time and I want to go back. I mentioned the screen names of a few NY PSers who I know have frequented his shop and I was sad to find out that I had missed Bliss by only a day! We'll have to plan a little PS NY GTG/shopping trip and meet in the city soon for some fun!
