Thanks Karl and MonkeyPie. I was kind of surprised how well the light box worked on my gemstones. I can''t wait to have time to go play with it.

Here is my gem dish. The colors came out pretty good I think.

Ametrine with stupid speck of dust showing. Nothing like living where you have pretty much no humidity. If it wasn''t past my bedtime I''d be trying to find it.

They are my prozac in a jar. They soothe my soul.

It took me a long time to learn that lesson my friend. Sometimes I will just dump out my gemstones and just go through them and look at them. I find it very entertaining and relaxing.

I love them marcy! Especially the third one that you posted

Thank you Bee.

Here are a few more with the light box. I did not alter the lighting or color in any way. I used manual settings, f32 at 5 seconds on a tripod for all these photos. I cropped them and saved them as jpeg.

These are my diamond dangle earrings.

Gemmies, of course. The dog is about the only thing I can capture accurately.

Does your camera / lens have a macro setting? Do you have a tripod? I take mine on macro setting with my camera on a tripod. If you have a manual setting you can try that. You have a Canon Rebel right? I can go look up info on it if that's your camera for sure.

Hi Marcy,
I used the auto macro setting, but not the tripod. Let me try again with the tripod and a macro lens. I do have a Rebel, but don''t worry about it. Thanks though!

The tripod will probably help. Good luck. I can''t wait to see your pictures.

Did you use a macro lens or just the macro setting?

These photos were taken with a macro lens. My camera doesn''t have a macro setting but since yours does it should work fine for you.

Ok. Thanks, friend.
