A few new additions v. Mahenge Spinel, Apatite, & Tanzanite

All of these stones are from Tan over the past couple of years. I've had the Apatite for a while, and was my "experimental" purchase from him some time ago.

The 1.73 ct. Mahenge spinel is awesome, and until this weekend, was my favourite loose stone to play with. Fluorescence is fun! Again, there is a window as it's a pear, but the setting has helped hide a bit of that. This one was also an auction win, so I'm happy with the colour vs. what I paid.

The 2.03 ct. Apatite has a lovely aqua/teal colour, and although it has a bit of a window, I won it for a very low price, and the colour trumps that cut.

The 1.60 ct. Tanzanite is a lovely blue violet, and now I just need to find a lovely white gold necklace to hang it from. I'm thinking delicate DBTY, but that will have to wait for a while.

Wowie! Gorgeous I think the pear Mahenge spinel is my favorite but they're all beautiful. The baguette diamonds look amazing with that pear.

Beautiful. I love the Mahenge spinel in particular, it's so elegant and I love pears. Is the pear setting an LOGR? It is really nice, the baguettes look more elongated and tapered than the LOGR I own with baguette sides.

The 4 pointy claws on the Mahenge is different from what I usually see...pretty.
Is that the same double halo setting as the one from chic's tourm? sorry I could not figure out if it is a round of diamonds or 2 . What a wonderful color for your apatite..

lauren-im not a professional but i do enjoy my gems-i enjoy showing them off as most people do-i think the spinel looks really good-even w/window-its a fairly hard stone & should wear well in a ring-ur appatite is also a good looking stone but the problem w/this material is softness-its easy to scratch/chip w/a small bump or knock against any surface-i would rec. that at least the appatite b placed in a pendent-less chance of hitting something & the stone is placed almost at eye level to anyone that faces u-ur gem is right there without having to position ur hands-just my 2cnts-pretty stones-best wishes.....

You’ve been busy and in a good way; the Mahenge is my favourite because not only is the colour good but the setting looks great (clean well cut baguettes) too.
