I'm working on a diamond budget of ~$2,300 and she and I both REALLY like the Fancy Torchiere by Mark Morrell. I'm currently looking at the following diamond and would love any feedback from some of the pros here.

The diamond can be found http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-VS1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1245431.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131.

Shape: Round
Carat weight: 0.85
Cut: Hearts & Arrows Ideal
Color: J
Clarity: VS1
Certificate: AGS

Depth: 62.4%
Table: 54.8%
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Girdle: Thin to medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Negligible
Measurements: 6.05*6.08*3.78

Crown Angle: 35.1°
Crown %: 15.90
Pavilion Angle: 40.7°
Pavilion %: 43.00

The price is $2,310. From what I've seen, this price seems extremely good which makes me skeptical about the purchase. Does anyone see a problem with this stone that may be reflected in the price? Any recommendations or comments are appreciated

Looks promising so far. Ask for the Idealscope image and Hearts image.

I have the stone on reserve, the IS will be delivered within 24 hours and I''ll post it once received. I''ve been looking for quite a while. Thanks to a lot of great information here, I''m sure she will be dazzled by her e-ring.

is the $2300 budget on for the stone? seems like a good stone to me. the only thing you may want to think about is finding something in budget that goes down in clarity to say SI1 or VS2 that is eye clean. and then using that to go either up in color or carat, depending on your preference.

Yes--the $2,300 is the budget for the stone. I was actually looking for SI1's that are eye-clean and came across this one which seems to be less expensive than similarly sized/color SI1's.

I'm primarily looking at H&A stones.

Below is the idealscope image. I should receive the hearts image later today. Looks good so far!
