I wouldn''t buy a setting from Abazias. Can you show us what the setting looks like?

I''ll most likely be purchasing a stone from Abazias and I''m curious to know why you wouldn''t buy a setting from abazias?
would you have similar reservations about purchasing a setting locally and having abazias set the stone?
Thanks for the input mm. I have a question about this into Jon, as it has been the impression around here that they would, no one has ever said any different from there. So hopefully Jon will clarify for us.Date: 6/30/2008 10:31:01 AM

I''m in the process of having GOG set a stone, and they told me they are not responsible if anything should happen while setting the stone. I just figured I''d mention that, since it seems to contradict what was said earlier in this post. It''s also $100 per carat to set the stone. Hope this helps!
Ah, therein may lie the confusion, and I was not clear in my statement either. I was referring to the diamond, should something happen, not the setting. And while none of us would want something to happen to either, the diamond would quite possibly be much harder to replace, and most likely more expensive.Date: 6/30/2008 5:10:32 PM

Here were Christen''s (from GOG) exact words to me in case you''re still waiting to hear from GOG.
''Yes we can set the stone, it''s $100.00 per carat so it would be $81.00. We just have to let you know if anything happens to the setting while it''s being worked on we are not responsible, (I don''t expect anything to happen but we just have to say it.)''
I''m actually waiting for them to do a GemEx report on the stone I bought, so I can see it twinkle, and the suspense is killing me! I think I''ve checked my email every 5 minutes since I got to work this morningGood luck!

Yep. Just for clarification we fully cover our diamonds that we set into other''s mountings 100%. What we don''t cover (as Christen mentioned) is the workmanship of the setting as we do not guarantee the workmanship of the manufacturers we choose to do business with or the QA of my team before a diamond leaves our store. If we receive a setting and anticipate problems with it we will forward you detailed photography of the setting showing you our concerns and why we approach certain jobs with more caution than others.
Kind regards,
