HI AGAIN!!!

ANOTHER QUESTION FROM ME!

I was looking at whiteflash and GOG''s site. So far, GOG has been so helpful to me that I''d really like to purchase from them (clearly customer service is a huge deal with me). However, I do have to admit that I have not yet had any contact with anyone from Whiteflash.

ANYWAY....my question is, ISEE2 diamonds are highly rated and apparently preferred by many. However, the diamonds that are ISEE2 that I had picked out do not already have the inscription of the AGS number on them, they only seem to have the ISEE2 number which is not able to be seen through a loupe. The A CUT ABOVE from Whiteflash have the AGS number on the girdle straight from the AGS lab and documented on the papers. SO, how does A CUT ABOVE compare to the ISEE2 diamonds?

Sorry for all of the questions...I have to make a decision soon as the first jeweler is coming back from vacation in a few days and I have to either tell them to keep searching or just tell them that I''ve purchased elsewhere due to frustration . If I do buy online, I''m just going to be upfront and tell them the truth...

I''ll share 2 things:

1) Both diamonds, purportedly (though I have not seen them) are lovely
2) If this gets at the heart of the question...$20 or so spent on top of an appraisal with Dave Atlas will get you an inscription on whichever you choose.

I agree...both will be beautiful. I personally have bought from both places, and both are top notch. If you see something interesting at WF, give them an email as well. You will get great customer service there too!!!

At one time...don''t know for sure anymore...GOG would do laser inscriptions on diamonds. Might want to ask them if you are in contact with them.

Ally, GOG can have a laser inscription put on any diamond girdle for a small charge if that is important to you. Excellent hearts and arrows diamonds can be found at many of these vendors. GOG gets diamonds from more than one supplier and that is why some come with it and others don''t. Apparently WF gets all theirs from one place, and they select the best ones within certain parameters to be inscribed as ACA and the others go into the Expert Selection category. A diamond in general is not "better" because it has a laser inscription. ISee2 and ACA are just names certain companies have given to their diamonds. It doesn''t make them better than another H&A stone which doesn''t have a name. Mine certainly is a top H&A stone, but it does not have a laser inscription and I didn''t even think about asking for one. But you can have it done so do not let that influence your choice of diamond. Choose the diamond and then have it done if you want.

I actually did ask them and they can inscribe, but my concern is then it won''t match the AGS certificate exactly.

If this lays heavy on your mind (it wouldn''t mine, or I''d be content with the separate inscribing job done by ISEE), the pre-inscribed AGS option solves the problem.

Maybe the logics behind the separate ISEE inscription can be made convincing to you. Certainly, if you ask Rock Doc and some others (I''m imagining this), they might review ISEE inscribing (I think they have a special inscription, right?), they might favor their non-wipe-away-able text. Still, for at least theoretical, if not practical, on the spot ability to check, I agree an inscription on the side is a nice feature. The specific instance that makes a concern the fact that the inscription then not also referred to on the AGS certificate is not entirely clear to me, but I understand the point.

Ally, the appraisal will have the inscription listed.

I haven't seen an Isee, so I can't say that I've seen how they look next to each other.

What I can say is that I own 3 A Cut Above diamonds, and they are absolutely breathtaking. I was delighted when my independent appraiser RAVED about the quality and light performance of my first ACA---my e-ring. Since the quality requirements are so stringent to get the A Cut Above branding, only the best of the best make it.

I'm sure the Isee diamonds are beautiful too.

they can have the ags report number inscibed on the diamond. That the report dont list it is not an issue that I see.
