I am new to the whole diamond buying process. I have done a lot of reading and searching. I have decided an "A Cut Above" Diamond. I ran the HCA score and it came back 1.3. What does this score mean? Thanks a lot!

When the HCA score is under 2.0 it means the proportions are excellent so the diamond can return more light out the top instead of letting it leak out the bottom.

ACAs are superbly-cut diamonds.
I have one and love it.

You are looking for a score under 2 from the HCA. It is not a selection tool but a tool to rule out stones that might not be top performers.

With the ACA stones, you generally have nothing to worry about. There have been many performance tests already conducted so you should be good to go!

Thanks for the quick and speedy response. From reading the old posts, I decided to go with a G, VS2 and not compromise an inch on cut. Although this is my first thread/series of posts, the information I found here is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all, who have asked and answered questions in the past.
